How to set PowerTOP options at boot time

Today, I will show you how to set all tunable PowerTOP options at boot time using systemd service.

Create systemd service file.

$ cat << EOF | sudo tee /etc/systemd/system/powertop.service
Description=PowerTOP auto tune

ExecStart=/usr/sbin/powertop --auto-tune

Notice that I have used idle process start-up type and defined TERM environment variable.

Reload systemd manager configuration.

$ sudo systemctl daemon-reload

Enable service at boot time.

$ sudo systemctl enable powertop.service
